Nick Vandever

was a promising college baseball player when an injury led to a prescription for opioids. Like so many others, that prescription ultimately led to an addiction that changed the course of his life. Nick went from the ballfield to being trapped in a cycle of rehab stays and involvement with the criminal justice system. In 2014, at just 23 years old and a new father, Nick tragically lost his life to a heroin overdose. His story is the heartbeat of our mission: to turn this profound loss into a community of support where no one is left behind."
